llms.txt generator
llms.txt is a proposed standard: a plain Markdown file at the root of your site that summarises who you are and links to the pages that matter. Fill in the fields and copy the file.
Fill in at least the site name.
Runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Notable.
How it works
- Write one link per line as: title | full address | optional note. Lines without an address starting with http:// or https:// are skipped.
- Save the output as llms.txt and publish it at the root of your site, so it opens at yourdomain.com/llms.txt.
- A section headed Optional marks links that can be skipped when space is short, as the llmstxt.org proposal describes.
The background
What llms.txt is, and is not
It is a proposal from llmstxt.org, not an official standard, and no major AI assistant has said it relies on it. It is cheap to publish and does no harm, but it does not replace pages that crawlers can read and robots.txt rules that let them in.
What to put in it
The pages a person would need to answer questions about you: what you offer, prices, where you are, opening hours, how to buy or book, and policies. Leave out pages that only exist for navigation.
Keep it short and current
A summary and a few dozen well-described links beat a full sitemap. Update the file when key pages move, because a link that no longer works helps nobody.
